The Famous at The Stork Club, Wed. June 18

If you’ve been to a show with The Famous on the bill over the past few years, you’ve perhaps noticed a trend. The band always seems to dive into cool happenings with adventurous artists sharing the stage in the most unexpected of venues.

With The Famous gearing up for a slate of summer shows and the release of ‘Ghost Town Parade’ the band’s third album later in the summer, the first show at the Stork Club in Oakland beckons with such a scene in store.

Wednesday, June 18th, The Famous join Portland’s All The Apparatus at the Stork in downtown Oakland, with Giggle Party from SF by way of Dallas opening the show.

As for Portland’s favorite street band All the Apparatus, Oregon Music News sets the stage… ‘Accordions, brass, xylophone, cello, violin, drums, guitars, bass…and that’s on a slow day.’ Check out the very cool 11-piece gypsy klezmer jazz indie anti-folk rock outfit from Rip City.

Regarding the show openers Giggle Party, we love the Party-Punk, Texas transplants’ synth pop take on The Pixies…

You’ll no doubt love their video for their own song Soul Rider made as part of the 48-hour SF Music Video Race…

The last time we played Oakland was a blast at The Uptown. Much is going on these days downtown and the venerable Stork Club is at the center of it all.

See you Wednesday, June 18th in the East Bay.
