Day 23 of ’50 Miles in 50 Days’ has us once again pulling off the road to take a beer break where a sour milk stout is the flavor of the day.
Aged in oak barrels with lactic bacteria for 10 months, the To Øl Sur Mælk from Denmark is our latest roadside attraction.
Other similar favorites are the Elizabeth Street Brewery’s Daddy’s Chocolate Milk and Left Hand’s Milk Stout, both smooth and much sweeter than their intentionally sour Danish brother.
If you have a favorite specialty stout to tout… please let us know. You know we’ll drink it.
