The Buck Owens song “Sam’s Place” is the perfect detour on this Day 7 of ’50 Miles in 50 Days.’
Our thinking is that if one did take 99 to Bakersfield, on the way you might end up in Sam’s Place and perhaps never make it to Firebaugh.

Shimmy-Shakin’ Tina from Pasadena sure did spend some good times at Sam’s Place… and so did Hootchie-Kootchie Hattie, all the way from Cincinnati.
We play several of Buck’s songs from that same time period and have always loved thinking about the party at Sam’s Place.
